This is about a girl named Naomi who is trying to find her own way in life. When her Mother becomes extremely sick, her whole life changes. She is very sad because her mom is suffering and she needs somebody to lean on. Then she discovers Joey, the distinct boy next door. Together, they form an alliance and set off for an adventure that can only result in what their both missing:Joy. Now Naomi has to ask herself one more question: How will I get by? Naomi must go deep within herself to figure that out. Will Naomi get by through this dramatic time in her life? Or will she just fall to pieces just like her Mother?

This was an interesting story about a young girl in the early 1900's who is learning her place in the world. In this story Calpurunia is the only girl in a family with six brothers. As she comes to understand her grandfather as a teacher, she also struggles with her mother. Her mother wants her to become a domesticated wife, who knows how to sew, cook, knit, etc. But Calpurinia is not interested in these things at all. She just wants to study science and nature with her grandfather, and maybe become a scientist herself, not a housewife. As Calpurnia tries to keep her family together she learns lessons of trust and self-confidence, and being who you really are inside. I recommend this book to older people, however there aren't any action scenes, and some people may become bored with the storyline if they do not enjoy this type of book, setting in the past.

I LOVED this book!! This is a picture book of quotes from girls. It is very inspiringing and fun. While it is a short read, you will not regret it. I give it 5 stars.

I did not like this book at ALL! This book didn't leave at a happy ending, the plot was sad, and basically everything was just about a girl just wanting to see Santa and ask him to make her best friends dad healthy. Only, she doesn't get her wish, and the dad dies. I mean, what book leaves the ending like that??!! So, like I said, I didn't like this book!

Girls should read this book. It is totally good. But i felt bad for the families that were starved. That part i cried. it was so sad. Sometimes can be fun but sometimes it can harm people.

These happy golden years it's so good tube out Laura she goes to town for2 months for teacher and he has to stay at her uncle's house and she doesn't like her uncle's wife she's crazy and mean like really mean once in the middle of night she said that she kicked he kicked her and she took the knife and said did you kick me and you said no and she almost got killed and on the weekends on Fridays when she gets back from work mushy gets to go home and that's 24 miles cuz they live in the Prairie and it's really good book can't wait to finish it

This book is about Bethany mota's entire life!😉I don't know if any of y'all know but Bethany is also a dancer,fashion designer , singer and many more .I am truly inspired of her .she went through some hard times but YouTube videos made her feel better then she started doing makeup reviews and fashion reviews .videos on YouTube .😋 this is one of my favorite books ever 📚📚 I got this from a booksale at my library my mom actually found it and I ran for get to her and got it I was so excited!I love Bethany mota!#inspired! Hilde is a little girl that loves investigating crime scenes in this book and figures out who stole a pie dish and eggs and cupcakes.also in this book other things happen like hilde sees the "meanagers" and spoilers* it turns out it is one of the meanagers that do all of that .at the end she gets in trouble and hilde is the hero!I recommend to 8 to 12 year olds I rate this book 3/5 stars 😁 also!I won this book on dogo and I would also like to thank dogo again for letting me win this 😁 😁 😁

This is a hilarious read with many unexpected twists and turns, yet I didn't get what the overall message was. To me it was just a one-time read if you want something light and easy that you don't have to think about. When the main character AJ goes back to school for 6th grade he feels left behind. In his trio of friends he is the only one that didn't grow, the only one that didn't do anything exciting over the summer, and he still has the same crush he has had for years, and his crush still doesn't notice him...........but maybe this year will be different. One thing AJ knows about Nia, who according to AJ is the most perfect girl on the planet, is that she is totally into vampires. AJ hatches a far-fetched plan for him to dress up as a vampire to get Nia to notice him......and it backfires........badly. He goes all out, with messed up hair, sunken in eyes, fangs, sunglasses, and blood on his teeth, and Nia definitely notices him. He catches Nia's bus and when they get off on the same stop, Nia corners him in the woods, and AJ learns that she is a SLAYER. This book will be a wonderful read for kids who like graphic novels, coming-of-age books, or easy, light reads. Definitely read this book to find out the result of AJ's crazy plan, and Nia's dream.
